Kayaking - Surf Skiing: Alton Water Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny sunset :) Max Speed: Distance Covered: approx 4.5
So to the main event the twight canoe, the idea being set off at 7.45 canoe
up past the limit to Lemon Hill bridge, have a break and then canoe back as
it gets dark :) After the afternoon bike ride we had time for a cuppa and
then I set about blowing up our Sevylor Colarado canoe !!! I had just
finished when the lad from Alton came over and sain that inflatables are
not allowed :( so we had to hire one of the centre's lovelly canadian
canoes for £24 which was a great price for two of us and included two
night camping :)
The forecast was for cloud but lucky for us there was hardly a cloud in the
sky as at 7.45 30 boats set off up the lake as the sun was setting with
Linda on the bank taking picture's and watched by families of canadian
greese !!! We had a fanastic slow paddle into the setting sun, chatting to
some friends in the rescue boat who we had'nt seen in years :) making
Lemon's Hill just as the sun was disappearing behind the trees !!! Mag and
I did a slalom under the bridge supports before setting off on the return
leg.Alot of the canoes seemed in a hurry to return but we hung back to make
it last as we watched the nesting turns feeding in the falling light :) We
were the last boat on the water but sadly it was still not completely dark
but Mag did light her glow stick just for fun !!!
We the had some pizza and drink included in the price before getting
changed and sitting out with the Hurrells chatting and Mag even saw a
shotting star - so a top day was had by all and we can't wait to get our
canoe out again soon !!!
